Senior Care Division

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office Senior Care Unit was established in 2003, as a joint venture with the Beauregard Council on Aging. The goal of the program was to provide deputies with the opportunity to make personal visits with Beauregard Parish senior citizens at their residences in an effort to address the seniors’ safety, security and general well-being.

Presently, Deputy Frank Johnson, Deputy Dewey Wright, and Deputy Billy Spikes are assigned to the Senior Care Unit. These deputies visit with approximately 250-plus seniors within the Parish of Beauregard and continue to work closely with the Beauregard Council on Aging, led by Mrs. Connie Granger.

The Council on Aging makes referrals to the Senior Care Unit concerning seniors that have enrolled in the program and the Senior Care Unit Deputies make home visits to those seniors.
The Senior Care Unit also frequently visits with seniors who are residing in the Assisted Living facilities located within Beauregard Parish.

The Senior Care Unit helps keep seniors updated on any crimes that specifically target seniors, such as asphalt scams, telemarketer fraud, etc.

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to be involved in this program and it is very rewarding to honor the seniors of Beauregard Parish, who have given so much of themselves throughout their lives to make Beauregard Parish such a wonderful community.

Any person who is sixty (60) years of age or older and interested in enrolling in the Senior Care Program may call the Beauregard Council on Aging at (337) 463-6578 for more information and/or enrollment.
